POSOLOGY AND METHOD OF ADMINISTRATION
The usual oral dose of amlodipine in the two indications (hypertension and angina pectoris) is 5 mg a day. The dose can be increased to 10 mg a day depending on the effects.
The adjustment of the dose of amlodipine is required in patients with impaired hepatic function and in elderly patients, the reduction of the dose is recommended.
The adjustment of the dose of amlodipine is not necessary for patients with renal insufficiency.
Generally, doses of 2,5 to 5 mg a day are sufficient for the achievement of the therapeutic response.
The food does not influence the efficacy of the drug.

|Each tablet contains amlodipine besilate equivalent to amlodipine 5 mg, excipients.

|As monotherapy, amlodipine is used in the therapy of mild to moderate arterial hypertension.
In combinatory therapy with other antihypertensive drugs, amlodipine can be used for therapy of severe hypertension.
Prophylaxis of stable angina pectoris or vasospastic angina pectoris (Printzmental angina).
|hypersensitivity to amlodipine, other dipyridine preparations or other constituent components of the drug;
aortic stenosis of clinical importance;
unstable angina pectoris.
Amlodipine should not be administered at children and adolescents under 18 years of age, because the efficacy and safety of the drug at this population have not been established yet.
