Standard dosing
Dosage is individual and depends on the severity of symptoms, the patient’s age and condition.
The average dose for ambulatory treatment is 1.5 to 3 mg up to three times a day.
In severe cases, especially in hospitalized patients can be applied doses of 6 mg to 12 mg, two to three times daily.
The maximum recommended dose is 60 mg daily.
The dosage should be individually determined for each patient. You should start with a lower dose, gradually increasing to the optimum dose.
Treatment should be as short as possible, no longer than 8-12 weeks, including tapering off process.

Special populations
Bromazepam usually is not indicated for the treatment of children. However, if the doctor estimates that is necessary, the dose should be adjusted according to weight (about 0,1-0,3 mg/kg body weight).
Elderly and patients with impaired hepatic or renal function require lower doses (up to 50%).

Anxiety, psychic tension and other somatic or psychic disorders accompanied with anxiety syndrome.
Additional usage for treatment of anxiety or agitation accompanied by psychiatric disorders such as disorders of mood or schizophrenia.
Benzodiazepines are indicated only when the disease is severe, disabling or in case of extreme distress.


Hypersensitivity to bromazepam or other benzodiazepines;
Myasthenia gravis;
Glaucoma narrow-angle;
Severe respiratory insufficiency;
Severe hepatic or renal insufficiency;
Sleep apnea syndrome;
Pregnancy and breastfeeding.
